Soul
Mate
Seeing you has sparked a déjà
vu,
As if before in the universe I knew you.
There we were together eternities before,
Through the gardens
and groves of the planets and heavens we soar.
And
we decided that we would visit the earth,
That is why you are so treasured, infinite is your worth.
Because we chose
each other to share this place,
And so I chose the lines of your face.
And we allowed our rendezvous, appearing as if by chance,
And we planned our lives and our circumstance.
So there had been something missing in my life
Until I saw you again as a lover and a wife.
You alone the one in the entire human race
Which all the wealth of the earth
could not replace.
With the treasures of the earth the entire heavens are filled,
But the mate of the soul to one
is willed.
Even King Solomon, with a thousand wives
and concubines,
King, heir, and owner of all the gold mines,
Even he could not find happiness in his toil.
His
riches could not replace the wealth of love’s spoil.
For in the soul mate, these treasures are unfurled.
A biblical passage hast unto thou come to relate.
What
benefit is it if a man should gain the world,
But lose his soul mate?
